Konza Environmental Education Program

"Prairie Week" Curriculum Introduction

  • This material is designed to be used in a classroom setting to introduce a young audience to prairie ecology - with focus on the tallgrass prairie of the Flint Hills of Kansas.
  • These lessons are intended to be followed sequentially as the previous lesson introduces concepts and terms that are used in subsequent lessons. However, educators are free to alter or edit the lessons as they see fit.
  • The material is aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the standards that are met are listed for each set. 
  • The material may be altered or edited by the individual educator. If slides removed and used in other presentations please give credit to: "(c) Konza Environmental Education Program 2023" on each individual slide.
